Straight from the heart

Life used to be very clear, some 3 or 4 years ago. I knew exactly what i wanted and i was working my way to get it. i was happy, satisfied and focused. so...damn...focused.
and then i grew up.
confusions set in.
i started distrusting my heart, distrusting my gut.
confidence...to put it eloquently.. 'confidence ki band baj gayee'.
a horribly feeling i hadn't felt since grade school set in...
SELF DOUBT.
is that not supposed to GO AWAY with age?? am i a story in reverse??

My little man N knows exactly what he wants and when he wants it.
it literally takes him a split second to decide exactly what he wants, be it wanting to eat a particular kind of food, or listening to a specific song or having to playy a certain game. upon my offers he shall take a milli second to either shake his head vigorously or give me a heart melting smile and eating that chip i am wagging in front of his face.
Yesterday, as most days go, he was dancing to his favorite song in my room ( did i mention he's a pro dancer?) so my sister and i decided to try out an experiment and introduce him to new music ( since we were sick and tired of 'desi girl'). N seemed to be up for it. ONE single beat was all the little man needed to know if he wanted to shake it on that song or not. Here are the results of some 80's tracks i tried on him:
1. Karma Chameleon : vigourous shaking of head...thus rejected.
2. Love in the first degree: a loud yelp and vigorous head shake.
3. Let's twist again: vigorous head shake and a smack to my right hand.
4. Funky town: sparkling eyes and an 'o' formed at his mouth- instant jiggying. :)
5. Jingle bells: smack on hand and a small cute frown.
6. sugar sugar: sparkling eyes...more jiggying.
7. Twist and shout: smack
8. you are mu sunshine: jiggy
amongst his fave indian songs:
1. desi girl: he goes absolutley nuts on this.
2. maa da ladla
3. jee karda
4. it's rocking
5. mauja hi mauja
6. dhamaal
7. pappu can't dance
8.jane kyoun dil janta hai
he hates:
1. move your body (kismet konnection)
2. woh lamhe
3. sadde gali
4. tu sala ( golmal)
5. mast qalandar ( hey baby)

There is no explanation for his tastes- he JUST knows.
We can all really learn a thing or two about how to live life from this lil bugger :)

cheers all.

This post is dedicated to N.
The current love of my life- who in his almost two years of existence has given me so much to laugh about and be thankful for.

So cute :)
I know what you mean about them knowing what they do and do not want and like. As for the confusion, part of self-discovery which only happens to the few chosen ones. It will eventually go away, hang in there :)

hehe may God bless his cotton socks! MashAllah hes such a CUTIE pie :)

and Kay, in every life some rain will fall. Perhaps you need to experience life on your own and see where life takes u from there. I know my time abroad really helped make me the person I am today. Its the exposure and meeting people from all walks of life. learning to deal with people. We are and will always be HIGHLY protected at home.

:)

and no aslam that wasn't the reason.lol. it took kAy longer to realize it than it took me. i knew it then too, since it was the same for me.
:)

no filmy connotations to my sudden burst of designing. it possibly stemmed from a lecture i got from my boss, where i was told to not waste my skill and start practicing again.

Why doesn't your blog let people be anonymous? I was going to be my usual creepy self, you know, and post anonymously on someone's so-called "anonymous" blog.

Your nephew is the cutest thing. Maybe when he grows up, I can teach him how to be creepy.

=)

consequences...thats why we take longer to decide...hesitate...not always a bad thing...life is simpler when one is oblivious to consequences

khizzy: i still don't really get it :p despite your email!

aslam: his name is nadir....lovingly called "naddu"- one day someone said "naddu kaddu" and eventually it came down to just "kaddu" :P
evolution.

YH: do not spread your creepiness!:P
as for anon posts,
i dont value the opinions of people who don't have the guts to show who they are.

fahad: not always a bad thing...but a bad thing if ALWAYS considered too much.
