Okay so bear with me this post.......
So this really happened.
I bumped into an old school friend and she runs to me
Friend: "kAyyyy is that really you???? you've turned out gorgeousss!"
Me: "umm...."
Friend: "It's like a complete transformation!"
Me: "uhhhuh..hmm *smile* thank you?"
Friend: "Noooonooooo you were alwayyss....CUTE you know..."
(i think she got flustered after that because she realized she'd kinda lost her groove)
This isn't the only incident though.
Yesterday a friend on msn messages me..he says:
Friend: "Dude, your looks have really changed havent they?"
Me: "umm...."
Friend: "Is it the makeup?? because a few years ago you didn't look like you do now."
Me: " uh huh.. :) yes..could be the makeup?"
These are just two incidents...amongst the several i have had- esp this december at friends weddings...bumping into people i had not met since school...what i dont get is that okayyy i wasn't the prettiest person back in school but i was not THAT bad (lol) for people to get *shocked* at the way i look now. :S
oh well...
moral of the story: long live make-up and evolution.

:-D for moi... long live weight loss! :)
LOL...we are psychic.
i mentioned evolution when you put up that horrible pic of me and hammie.
but ive seen your old pictures. i think the people are just thrown off at how while retaining your previous baby-cute looks, you are also a very pretty girl now. Its called growing up.maturing.
besides...you're not supposed to look beautiful in like 6th or 7th grade.
jeez. how would we learn life's lessons otherwise.
atleast you were cute...i should've walked around with a paper bag over my head.
My sympathies! I do agree with you though... Concealer has changed my life :P Makes me feel a little sorry for men (or atleast most of them who don't use makeup)
its better than being told: you haven't changed at all since the last i saw you in 1994! which happens in my case! :s
for the love i have for you: i can mayhaps put up a picture from grade 5 or 6 but really- don't we all know better? some friends stay ugly and others don't grow up. ha! and we also know what we'd chose :)
stay happy kAy - you are steaming hot. =D
Jaded: In my case long live weight GAIN :P
khizzy: i thought you wrote evolution on that pic because you had read my post!!! LOL
i know what you mean about the bag over the head.. i mean i wonder why ppl spoke to me back then??? and for those few boys who had crushes on me its heart warming to know they liked me for the person i was because God knows and would agree it wasnt for the looks :P haha
Desi Lawyer: EYE liner changed my life :P now if i dont wear it people ask me if i am ill :P
Insi: you showerer of praise.
:P
and not changing means you were pretty complete all those years ago when us ugly ducklings were battling with beauty :P
aslam you are most welcome to join in- after all ugly duckling was a male! :)
I mirror most of Khizzy's comments on this post of yours...I am sure you were always pretty, but as we mature and evolve, we also become sure of ourselves, we lose our adolescent hang-ups and learn to love ourselves the way we are, and grow super comfy in our own skins and no amount of make-up can make you glow like confidence in yourself can. May the glow stay forever!! :)
awww thats mean not nice lol
Well in my case at least now I look like a girl and no random chaukidaar comes and shakes my hand because they think I am "one of the guys".
But that may also be becuase I no longer have a unibrow. Thank God for threading.
okay forget everything...
"sajna hai mujhe sajna ke liye"!!!
hahahaha!
LOL Kay... you've hit the nail on the head!
Seriously, can u imagine what life would be like if girls stopped waxing/threading/using makeup... basically looking presentable??! oh the horror!
Call me shallow, but thats just the way the cookie crumbles
oh where is my comment....
that is so not fair.... u comment box eated my comment :S
well i have been a silent reader of ur blog for so long so yesterday i decided to leave my mark
@ Desi lawyer....dont worry we gals will still luk pretty then guys :P envy us hehehehe
umm...hmmm..
I think I am gonna be an exhibitionist someday.
No make-up, just natural beauty. Some jungle waterfall me and my mermaids in the whitish bubbles of bluish water in between the greenery of some sound island.
Well i think it’s pretty adequate than the phrase "look at you… how much you have grown up… i met u when u was too young kid” …huh”
Oh plz when other things of the universe can grew big so why can't i
Is their any tax implemented upon me for having such natural growing factor in me?
Huh…
I simply hate these family g2g where far family friends met after decades and utter this stupid kind of line (with some unsuccessful astonished expression on face) in the reply of my hellos and greetings
And the worst part is I simply can’t do any thing expect throwing a very warm, convivial and modest kind of smile to them (as they come in the list of my elders and I have to listen their such of crap with all my respect and silence)
I really like your blog
Keep up the good work… :-)
haha i know exactly what youre thinking...i was 25lbs heavier in o/alevels and had loads of acne..and i guess girls in my family "bloom" a little late..i hear the same..." OHHHHH youve changed soooooo muchhhhhh" and i think..thanks but no thanks :P
soniayesha: thank you for your input!
aslam: i already read the comment you deleted! why did you delete-
waisay yes there are similarities in the two pics eventhough they were taken nearly 3 years apart!
puerile fuss: welcome to my space- glad you could relate! :)
I think the second guy was just trying to hit on you :)
